"Simon and his team successfully managed to organise more than 12 bands during a long 18-hour film shoot covering several locations in London. They worked very hard at making sure everything went to plan with the filming and I have no doubt whatsoever of their ability to organise other projects in the future."

Photography for Restaurants

Hello. I'm Simon Mees, a photographer with a passion for great food. I'd be excited to work alongside your marketing team and your chefs to capture the essence of the food you serve in your restaurant.

A typical shoot for me is 4 hours long with an extra hour for setting up my cameras and lighting. Ideally I'd like 25 minutes per dish allowing us to work through up to nine dishes.

Alternatively I can spend a couple of minutes per dish on their journey out from the kitchen. This would allow us to capture a wide range of dishes during service and would involve no waste. Obviously I'm unlikely to find the very best angles for each dish in this limited time.

I can work on a single table in the corner of your restaurant or in any spare space you have. Alternatively I can come and work with your chef when the restaurant is closed.

I will use a variety of lenses, camera angles and techniques to supply your marketing team with a wide range of shots. All photos will be run through Photoshop before I supply them to you.

A typical shoot will produce a mix of overhead shots, close ups, wider shots, multi-plate shots, shots with wine glasses etc. If you look through my portfolio and give me an idea of any type of shots you particularly like or would like me to focus on I can do that with pleasure.

"Simon has helped me market my Restaurant business for nearly 10 years. He is reliable, professional and that rarest of guys, a techie with a soul, whose video captured the essential essence of my business"

"Thanks Simon, your attention to detail and precision photography has represented our fresh from the kitchen food presentation at its sizzling best. We look forward to seeing you on a busier day for the broader shots of the restaurant and surroundings."

"Simon took some photographs for our restaurant recently and we were delighted with his work. We were consulted at every stage and he seemed to recognise what we wanted from the pictures with consummate ease. He was very relaxed and personable, a pleasure to work with and the results were excellent. We can wholeheartedly recommend Simon to anyone requiring professional food photography."
Graham Cuthbertson, Chef proprietor, Asquiths Restaurant
"Simon made a brilliant video for our T-shirt business that totally captured what our company is about. We were very impressed with how relaxed he made the shoot even though he had 10 models under the age of 10. He also listened to what we wanted and managed to make something exciting and original for us, that we are very happy with."
Rose Bamford, Dandy Star
"We launched a revolutionary new plumbing product to the UK market. The best way to sell the product was by demonstrating it but we simply did not have the resources to reach every plumber directly. Instead we approached Simon to come up with a cost effective solution for a web based video.

He used a combination of existing video plus some additional footage prepared by himself to come up with a simple but clear video that could be viewed easily via our website. One great benefit was that, as a small business, we did not have to get involved in complicated hosting and technology issues as the video is held remotely on dedicated servers. This saved us a lot of time and hassle and allowed us to concentrate on selling the product itself."
